Aubree, The Human Bean

“We’ve stayed open for the whole pandemic. We had reduced hours, but we never shut down. We were pretty fortunate. I think a lot of businesses moved to the carryout and drive-through model and we were fortunate enough that that's what we were already doing. During COVID, it’s been so cool to see how supportive our customers are and how supportive our baristas are of each other. When everything was shut down, it didn’t feel lonely here. There’s always comradery and customer interaction. Customers were like, I'm so glad to get my coffee this morning! And I'm like, I'm so glad to still have a job! For me, The Human Bean has been a happy place to just have a mission and a goal during a challenging time. There’s the constant question of when is this going to end? It's like, we have no idea when this is going to end. But it’s really, really cool to be able to stand firm in the fact that we are being safe and that we are doing our best to protect ourselves while still offering the best service that we can.”
