Jonathan Kobs, Choir Director

“My name is Jonathan Kobs, and I am a middle and high school choir teacher. I also consider myself an unofficial theatre teacher because I direct two musicals and assistant direct a play throughout the school year."

"On the surface, many people think teaching music or theatre is all about fun. Don’t get me wrong, it absolutely is fun, it has to be! But, that is just the surface layer. Teaching the performing arts is about giving students a human experience; creating relationships with their peers, allowing them to feel all the colors life has to offer, and ultimately, becoming better people."

"The relationships I am able to create with my students are the best part of the job. Unlike other subjects, I have students in my class for several years, and it’s really satisfying to see them grow in their abilities and passions and as a human.”
