Seth & Sarah, Earth Treks

"I'm Seth and I work the front desk and am an instructor here. I’ve worked here for three years. I started out at Earth Treks out in Maryland, and then came out here when I started at the University of Denver. I really like working here because we get to hang out with members—climbers are so freaking cool to be with. I've made so many friends just by hanging out and chatting about their training or what adventures they're going on. Even though we basically sit up here and check people in and sell them cookies half the time, we get to talk to members and learn about what they're up to. We get to have an impact on creating this community.”

My name is Sarah and I've worked here for six weeks as a front desk associate. It's a people-oriented job and such a cool way to create community within something I love—I love climbing. This job gives me a really unique opportunity to meet so many different people from so many different backgrounds. Some people who climb here have been climbing for 50 years. Some people are starting today. I hope when people come in here, they feel like this is a safe, helpful, and happy place for them to do something that they love. It’s really important for me to be able to create a community that feels good—no matter what level or what you know.”
